SL is right the stock on the omega is hollow with ears on the side for the buttplate to be screwed in So, in short if you cut the stock too short, you may have to reconstruct the ears with some kind of epoxy and drill and tap and may even have to reshape the pad to acclomplish a good fit Or as I did in my fathers shotgun, he has really freakish short arms Still cheaper than a used littlehorn This recoil pad, really helps with recoil as well Lee 9 said:.

I've whined a bit about the Thompson synthetic stocks being among the industry's worst--they are not for me. However, any other Omega aftermarket stock can be added to this rifle at your discretion and there are plenty to choose from. For the money, you can't go wrong with the Omega Z Knight Rifles.
Take a kid hunting. You will enjoy it more than they do! I would love for you to try and get my Omega to shoot conicals! I have spent over 3 years trying different combinations, and the only conical that it will shoot decently is powerbelts. See if you think I tinkered enough. I have used pyrodex, , american powder, and blackmag3. I have used only loose powder and tried from grains of each in 5 grain increments. I used multiple different primers including the reduced s and the small rifle primers.
I tried wads. That is right, some of the groups I got were 8 inches at twenty five yards. First they shot it with sabots, and sent it back saying it was fine. I then sent it back with a paper taped over the breech saying if they weren't going to shoot conicals, don't bother shooting it.
When they first came out, the website said "shoots sabots and conicals", but I defy you to find anywhere on their website now that says it will shoot conicals. And I want to shoot something with a better reputation in terminal performance than powerbelts when I elk hunt.
And I don't want to have to shoot real black. Do a search and you will see that I am not alone in my problems shooting conicals.
That said, my brother has an identical Omega that is not so picky. Just the luck of the draw, but I am not the only unlucky one. It does shoot sabots and powerbelts better but it will shoot other bullet. Perhaps you havent tinkered enough. When I get my Knight KRB7 in the next couple of months, I bet I will have it shooting well with conicals other than powerbelts within a month.
How much more time and money should I spend "tinkering" with my Omega. Blue, nice laminated stock and the barrel is 24" instead of 26". Bought it years ago. Joined: Oct Wasatch Mtns. I have a Z5 with a synthetic stock and stainless barrel. I don't think there are any differences between the two other than camo patterns.
Look at post 5. The z5's are good guns. They cut some corners here and there but nothing performance wise. I have sighted in a couple of them for people and the triggers were very good and they shot very well.
