Over the years, he has been nominated sixteen times for excellence in teaching and academic leadership. He has received six Excellence in Teaching awards, including the distinguished teaching award—one each from the administration and faculty association and four from the students association.
Kanwar resides in Calgary and is actively involved in research in both Canada and Pakistan. He is also active in the community by participating in and presiding over community- and government-appointed boards and committees. Jan 15th, His lectures are easy, but his tests are only easy if you know all the material very specifically; which is contradicted by him telling you to study everything generally.
Nov 26th, Mahfooz is horrible and completely unreasonable. He thinks he knows everything and is extremely rude. He is not easy to get a hold of for help, and if you manage to track him down is completely useless, and unclear on his expectations.

Yes, he was a little unclear when it came to what he expected on Short Answer Tests, but MC was so easy. People are complaining about how he doesn't mention the text? Feb 27th, Jan 4th, I feel I'd be re-iterating what everyone else has said, but it baffles me how someone like Mahfooz can have tenure when he cannot teach to save his life. His expectations were exceedingly unclear and he did not teach in the lectures. He expected the student to read the book on their own time and then write a test on material not discussed. Dec 15th, Only 7 pgs of notes for the whole semester.
I feel I didn't learn a thing.
